Jammu & Kashmir A Hill Station

I am a traveller, loves to explore, but this scorching heat left me with no desire to go out. But then I met my friend she was looking fresh in the burning heat. My curiosity forced me to ask her what has happened…she went on a holiday to the lush green meadows, Sapphire sky and gushing water around the 7th heaven on earth Jammu and Kashmir Hill Stations. I asked her were you scared, she said initially I was sceptical but there was ample of security. I decided to go, packed my woollens and bid adieu to my worried parents (travelling in the army controlled area) and started my journey. The moment I was reaching J&K I was tensed but was thrilled too.

The Hill Stations of Jammu & Kashmir has always fascinated me I started off with visiting Katra, Vaishno Devi it was a divine experience. Then, I went to Patnitop ,Hill Station in Jammu & Kashmir which should not be missed. A perfect picturesque quality where time stands still, green meadows, streams flowing and clouds so close that you can touch them. With the wooden paths laid in between the mountains and exotic scenery around you would love to explore the beauty of Hill Station Patnitop by walking your way through the mountains. If you have an adventurous streak you can enjoy camping, para gliding, horse trail and more.

Srinagar, Hill Station in Jammu and Kashmir was my next halt, located in the Kashmir valley on both sides of river Jhelum. The climate of Srinagar is pleasant throughout the year and is famous for its handicrafts and dry fruits, best known for its Houseboats also know as Shikaras. The Mughal Gardens are a pinnacle which is in chime with the natural surroundings.

It was difficult to leave Srinagar as the city is mesmerizing but the charm of seeing Jammu & Kashmir was growing more and more on me.

Gulmarg, Hill Station in Jammu & Kashmir, my next destination smell of a fresh flowers and butterflies all around the valley and with every spurt of new bud comes to life enhance the beauty of the region. The snow peaked mountains and green valleys dazzled with colourful flowers and butterflies looks like something I use to draw as a child.

Sonamarg, Hill Station in Jammu & Kashmir, another beautiful site. The Meadow of Gold as it is referred as has panoramic view of snow peaked mountain, indigo sky, with silver streams of water and emerald grass having a dash of yellow hue spread around. The places I was keen on visiting left in awe of the magical place river Sindh, Vishansar and Kishanbsar with Zojila Pass, Thajwas the camping site. Trekking, Alpine Skiing, angling, white water rafting I enjoyed, as it was able to quench my adventurous thirst. Sonamarg had yet another special place Nilagard a water stream believed that bathing in the water here cures all your diseases as the water is blessed with medical properties.

Phalagam, Hill station in Jammu & Kashmir, my entry point for the Amarnath Caves one of the most pious places on earth. After my visit to the Amarnath Temple I head straight to the Himalayan valley. Trekking was one thing which I enjoyed most in the Valley of the Shepherds as there were some places which were tucked far away from  the urban commotion the Aru Valley, Kohli Glacier, Tarsar Lake, Chadiwari and Leh are few of the places which I will never ever be able    to forget all my life. White water rafting at the Lidder river which takes you to through the natural forest. while speeding on the water.

My Journey ended at Phalagam. I was spellbound with the beauty of nature, it seemed to me that God took His time to make heaven on earth. Placing each mountains, rivers, valleys, meadow from His own hands and still taking care of it as it is very close to His heart. Jammu & Kashmir is the best escape for summers. Jammu & Kashmir tourism assures security to the tourist as the people and army is very co-operative. You can reach Jammu & Kashmir through Train, Bus or Air. And for visiting the Himalayan region you can opt for a pony ride , or a taxi, bus, train as you can enjoy the scenic beauty of the place also. Jammu & Kashmir is a treat for the gourmets. Kashmiri cuisines are inspired by the Mughals greatly, tingly spices used in food and desserts may satisfy your hunger but never your heart. Khawa was one thing I was keen on tasting. It is a blessing in the valley and having it gives you the feel of the region and you feel a part of the place.
