Langkawi or the Jewel of Kedah as it known popularly was a great holiday experience for us. When we were planning holidays we want to choose a destination which should be fun for us and kids. Langkawi the archipelago of 104 islands was a perfect holiday destination in Malaysia. It got better when we landed there we discovered it’s a Duty-Free Island a perfect heaven for duty free chocolates, alcohol and cigarettes if you smoke. Langkawi is surrounded by breath-taking turquoise Andaman Sea and on the land you are surrounded by picturesque scenes of nature and beautiful forest filled hills. I know every beach reminds us of God’s wonder creations but ……..
Langkawi shores with their golden powdery sand, coconut trees dancing to music of breeze was ecstatic experience, just so good so true!!! My family was delighted to discover under water life in there diving sessions. Pulau Payar was the best with its large number coral reefs. The island caters well for the need of diving equipment for hire. Pulau Payar Marine Park is beautiful, best spot for snorkeling or scuba diving. After a rendezvous with marine life, it was time for hike. We were accompanied by an experienced guide to enjoy our hiking adventure. We stopped for a picnic lunch and were amazed at nature beauty. Our next haunt was Pulau Dayang Bunting, second largest island. Langkawi has great beaches like picturesque Pantai Cenang with its endless shore dotted with tall coconuts and casuarinas, Burau Bay was a great experience with its rocky edges, flocks and flocks of migratory birds just perfect back ground for photos. If you like peaceful beaches then Pantai Kok is just right surrounded by hills on the other hand Datai bay has snowy beach surrounded by forest. If you like heights than Langkawi Cable Car is perfect to take you to peak of Gunung Mat Chinchang which is connected to Langkawi Sky Bridge. While up in the
air you can also enjoy views of Telega Tujuh Waterfalls, also
known as seven waterfalls that flow into each other creating seven pools. You can climb up to the top of the falls and meet one of our ancestors; Macaque monkeys. If you are diver go for it, seven pools of the majestic waterfalls are waiting to greet you!! As per the legend these waterfalls were used by fairies, so make sure you behave your best, Fairy God Mother might surprise you!! Langkawi’s natural treasures don’t end here; our favourite ones were Crocodile Adventureland, Oriental Village and Langkawi Bird paradise. Our Monumental trip list included a visit to The Stunning Summer Palace or better known as the set for Anna and The King. It still has its originality and has a beautiful Thai restaurant to satisfy your hunger after a long wander. They also have Thai performances to entertain the tourists. Then there is Book Village, with a wide collection of books, magazines, national, international and books related to different subjects. The Laman Padi Langkawi Rice Museum, Ibrahim Hussein Museum and Dataran Lang or
Eagle Square a perfect backdrop for photos too. We loved food in Langkawi; it was just amazing; every time you ate it got better and better. Best thing was there was something for everyone to do like Kayaking, sailing, Jungle trekking with excellent guides, Nature Walks, Bird watching tours, Heli rides, Scuba diving or snorkeling or just lie down on the beach with a book. We loved every moment of our vacations in Langkawi will visit it again soon.
